John van Schagen & David Sluis, hosts of the BNR Nieuwsradio podcast ‘The Deal of a Lifetime’

What stood out was that the entrepreneurs who go the furthest often think differently from those around them. They spot opportunities sooner, are quicker to take decisions and look further ahead than most others.

Using examples from the podcast, John and David explained how major business decisions often come about. Not from a perfectly laid-out plan, but from conviction, timing and the ability to recognise opportunities when others are still hesitating.

At the same time, the stories showed that behind every successful deal or business lies a human story. Stories about taking risks, dealing with uncertainty, and making choices whose outcome is never certain in advance.

An evening filled with entrepreneurial stories, practical experiences and insights that M&A professionals can also relate to: ultimately, every deal revolves around the people who make the decisions.
